Savings

Pension Credit has no upper limit but counts £1 a week for every £500 above £10,000. Universal Credit stops entirely above £16,000.

A missed disability benefit is usually the most expensive thing to get wrong. It is not means tested, and it unlocks extra amounts in everything else — a severe disability addition alone is worth over £86 a week in Pension Credit.

Even where Carer's Allowance cannot be paid on top of a State Pension, claiming it creates an underlying entitlement worth £48.15 a week in Pension Credit.
